WordPress is a web-based platform that can be used to develop personal blogs. To create a personal blog using WordPress, there are two options: through WordPress.com or WordPress.org. The difference is that .com provides us with hosting, so we don’t need to rent hosting to use its features. While WordPress.org only provides the application. So we have to download the application, and then we have to install WordPress on the hosting.

I used to have a personal blog called rahmanu.com. It was up for around 5 years. But I let it go because I didn’t renew the hosting and domain. Last year, I started a new WordPress blog, but the same thing happened—I forgot to renew it, so it’s gone too.
Maintaining a personal blog can be quite challenging. Initially, the enthusiasm is usually overwhelming. When I first started my blog, I was able to produce quite a few posts. However, after a few weeks, I would get bored and start neglecting it. This cycle has repeated itself for several years.
Creating a new WordPress site
Today, August 9th, 2024, I have installed a new WordPress instance with the same domain name as before, ardhanx.com. The difference is that I have switched hosting providers. I felt the need for a change of pace and decided to move to a new hosting company. Previously, I had been using a hosting provider that I will refer to as “the old provider” since my college days. I have been a customer of theirs for approximately 14 years. Now it’s time to say goodbye.
The question now is, “Will I be stuck in the same old cycle?” Hopefully not. I will find a strategy to ensure writing consistency. Previously, I have succeeded in maintaining consistency in cycling. I believe that writing consistency is not difficult to achieve.
My hope for this new personal blog is to document everything I learn. I intend to use this blog as a personal reminder. Hopefully, it will also be beneficial to my readers.
